Product Mentoring
If you have an existing product or a product idea and want to develop it then this service is for you.We basically advise on all aspects of the proposed product from an analysis of its market potential to advice on manufactures’ and selling routes. We become your personal advisor to guide and encourage you down the path towards a successful launch without losing out to the numerous scams and sharks which can bedevil your progress. We know about most of these because we’ve been burnt ourselves. Contact is either by direct meetings or via email/video conferencing. Fees for this are negotiable but are tailored to suit your circumstances; they have ranged from very substantial for a couple of multi-nationals to completely free for a product which we fell in love with.
Team Lectures
These can be quite useful and great fun as part of a change management process or just to re-invigorate and motivate a product team. But be warned that if the present administrate or corporate structure which the teams work under is faulty or unfriendly to a highly developed product team, then these talks can be wasted. But some have produced very good results indeed; one lecture with a 6 man team actually threw up 4 really good products in a 2 hour session. The talks are normally about what your teams do after I leave but in this case those products were there waiting to be encouraged and brainstormed out of a very talented but previously dis-empowered team.
Product Teams set-up and recruitment.
Most product teams are not set-up nor managed to get the best from your teams talents = it’s a sad fact but its true – we just advise you how to do it and who best to employ internally and externally to achieve your business aims.
Product Range Analysis
These services are largely aimed at companies with existing product ranges and range from the “what product next “scenarios to which product to drop or develop along with range repositioning.In a lot of cases there are residual “product ownership” issues which it’s sometime hard for a company to solve internally but a external product advisor can offer a much clearer objective view of the problem.
Designing Bespoke Product.
We can produce new products to suit your selling route,company structures and systems and mostly these tend to be patentable designs. We are also quite good at improving competitor’s designs and making a new better product for your company. In fact we are sometimes very good at this indeed, we can’t talk about specific named companies but one really lovely client who had her designs stolen by a competitor called us in. We redesigned, patented and took 75% of the competitors market in the next 2 years after launch and the last I heard from her she had put in a takeover bid for the rascals. Sweet!
